My name is Jorge Tavares and welcome to my weblog! This is mostly a homepage about bits and pieces of anything that I find interesting, as well as my previous research work. Not regularly updated in terms of posts but I try to do my best.
I’m a Senior Applied Scientist at Microsoft, working in Munich, Germany for Project Brainwave within MSAI. Inside Microsoft I have worked previously for Core Relevance in Bing, as well as in conversational assistants platforms and Cortana. Before Microsoft, I was a Postdoc at MIT and INRIA, as well as a Researcher at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, where I also did my PhD in Artificial Intelligence.
I am a big Common Lisp fan and because of that, the blog side of this homepage has been mostly dedicated to Lisp and programming than anything else. I always plan to make this site a bit more broad regarding my interests, including more Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence but I’m not a true blogger.
You can also follow me on Twitter, check my profile at Linkedin and my github page.
